A native Mac app built for real-time speech
Everything runs from the menu bar. Start a capture, keep working, and read the finished transcript in your library.
Transcribe system audio on your Mac
Capture whatever is playing through your Mac: a Zoom or FaceTime call, a Google Meet in the browser, a podcast, or a video. No meeting bot joins the call, the app simply listens to your Mac.
Live microphone transcription
Record your voice or an in-person conversation from the menu bar and watch the words appear as you speak, with speaker labels when more than one person talks.
Translate as you speak
Turn live speech into another language on the fly, or translate any finished transcript into 50+ languages without leaving the app.
Dictate into any app
Speak instead of type. Dictate notes, emails, and messages into any Mac app and copy the clean text with one click.
Global quick-capture shortcut
Hit one keyboard shortcut from anywhere on macOS to start capturing instantly, so you never miss the first sentence of a call or idea.
Synced with the web app
Every capture lands in the same RealtimeVoiceKIT library you use on the web, with AI summaries, search, and subtitle export ready to go.
How it works
From download to a finished transcript in three steps.
Download & open
Download the universal .dmg, drag the app to Applications, and sign in. It opens straight into your menu bar, no configuration required.
Capture the audio
Choose your microphone, your Mac's system audio, or both, then start the capture. Keep working while it transcribes and translates in real time.
Read it in your library
Stop the capture and the full transcript is saved to your RealtimeVoiceKIT library with an AI summary, translation, and SRT or VTT export.
Captures become transcripts, ready for real work
Nothing stays stuck on your desktop. Every session becomes a full transcript, synced across the Mac app and the web.
AI summary and chat
Each transcript arrives with an AI summary, and you can ask follow-up questions about anything that was said.
Translation into 50+ languages
Translate any transcript into more than 50 languages, right from your library on Mac or the web.
SRT and VTT export
Export subtitle files for any capture, ready for your video editor or player.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Mac app free?
Yes. The app is free to download and uses your RealtimeVoiceKIT plan, including the free plan. You only need an account to sign in.
Does it work offline?
The app records locally, but transcription and translation run in the cloud with frontier AI, so an internet connection is required to turn audio into text. Your recordings stay private and encrypted in transit.
Can it capture system audio, like a meeting or a video?
Yes. The app can transcribe your Mac's system audio, so you can capture a Zoom or FaceTime call, a Google Meet in the browser, a webinar, a podcast, or any video, with no bot joining the call.
Which macOS version do I need?
macOS 11 Big Sur or later. The download is a single universal build that runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M1 and newer) and Intel Macs.
Is the app signed and notarized?
Yes. The app is code-signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS Gatekeeper opens it without security warnings.
